I was so happy to see that my little one found lots of other ways to play with our bean bags. I absolutely LOVE it when children make up their own games using simple materials.. very often non toys. Childrens` fantasy and creatitivity is amazing!
So here are some plates from our ring tossing game, patties (our bean bags)… for the rolling pin she used just a simple twig, for a spatula she used a ruler, for the stove a little bowl turned upside down, for decorations polystyrene voidfill..
I was offered the patties too and they tastied yummy! After eating we sang some nursery rhymes about patting a cake in both languages. Whenwe were babysitting my sister`s baby in summer we sang the Estonian version very often. My daughter loved holding the baby`s hands and patting the cake and singing the song.
Patsi, patsi leivapätsi,
siilu, saalu saiapätsi.
Veere, veere kakku – viska ahju hopsti!
Tee kakku, kasta saia,
sili sealihaga,
kasta kanamunaga,
Pane ahju supsti,
võta välja lipsti,
söö ära nämm- nämm!
Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake, baker’s man.
Bake me a cake as fast as you can;
Pat it and prick it and mark it with B,
Put it in the oven for baby and me.
Patty cake, patty cake, baker’s man.
Bake me a cake as fast as you can;
Roll it up, roll it up;
And throw it in a pan!
Patty cake, patty cake, baker’s man
