Mermaids` Makings

Let`s make music!

It was time to rearrange our music box. So we repaired some old instruments and made a few more. Now it`s daddy`s turn – not to make instruments, but to write the music for us and make a band.

1. These instruments go around your arms and legs and are made of jingle bells, cat toys and pipe cleaners.

Väga lahe on nendega tantsida.

2. We made a tambourine a year ago so now we just redecorated it and made another one. I couldn`t find the cat toys that we used last time. It was very good to attach them onto the card.. so I just bought a pair of different ones. They make a different sound as well.

Kinnitasin pallid karvase traadiga papiriba peale. Lihtne teha ja lõbus mängida!

3. The shakers are made out of two empty crisp tubes. This is where friends can be handy – as we don`t buy crisps I asked my friends to give me a few empty tubes.  So my daughetr painted the tubes (on the little one she drew a story of her visit to Warwick Castle) and I stuck some tissue paper strips onto both ends. And then it was time to add some rice into one tube, cornflakes into another and- get shaking!

Siin on kasutatud krõpsutorusid.

4.  Some more shakers. We made the flowery one last year. The shaker is made out of two yoghurt pots. After pouring rice into one pot I glued the pots together. Later I put some cellotape as well to make sure it wouldn’t come apart. After paninting the pots we decorated them with some buttons.

Siin on kasutatud jogurtitopse. Enne liimimist muidugi panime sisse teri.

5.The same  Little Drums from last year. I only covered them in Mod Podge to make them stronger.

Siin on kasutatud ümmargusi juustukarpe.

6. My little one  made this shaker at school last year using tape and kitchen paper tube. It is quite worn already but we fix it from time to time.. it is just such a pity to throw away her own creations.

Siin on lihtsalt kasutatud köögipaberi rulli ja maalriteipi. Sees on jällegi terakesed. See kipub meil katki minema aga parandame jälle ära.. laps koolis tegi ja kahju on ära visata.

7. Coin Clackers. Murra ristküliku kujuline papitükk pooleks ja kaunista. Liimi sissepoole kaks münti ning väljapoole ümmargused paberist keeratud torukesed sõrmekeste jaoks.

8. Drums. There are lots of good things in England and one of them is trifle! Homemade ones are the best of course but sometimes it`s good to get them from the shop as well. So for the bigger drum we used two big trifle boxes. I painted them inside and glued them together. For the drum sticks we used old felt tip pens and wooden beads. The smaller drum is made out of a crisps tube.

Trummi jaoks kasutasime kahte suurt plastmassist kaussi. Värvisin seestpoolt ja liimisin kokku. Pulkadeks vanad vildikad, mille otsas puidust pärlid. Kitsam trumm on lihtsalt kaunistatud krõpsutoru.

This is it for now but we still have a couple of instruments to make.

Last year my daughter made  “rain” at school. It is a silver ribbon stuck onto a lollipop. (And again- it is very fragile but I just can`t throw it away as we still can use it.. and my little one is very proud of what she has made at school). It is very good to use when dancing to “rain music”. So we made “sun” and “grass” at home too. I stuck crepe paper strips onto some wooden pegs.  Now we just need to make the “rainbow”.
