Mermaids` Makings

Under The Sea

As Annabel is now doing an “Under The Sea” topic at school she wanted to make some pictures at home.

Here she drew some waves, cut the sea part out and scrunched up the paper.. she then glued it onto light blue card,  folded some newspaper many times and drew a fish shape.  After cutting them out she glued the fish onto the sea and added some finishing touches with felt tip pen. Then she did the same with the octopus. Finally she added a sun and drew some birds.

This is a tissue paper picture. As tissue paper is very fiddly to handle we made the picture together. Annabel glued on the sea whilst I stuck on the fish and the seaweed.

This is our ocean :) We used soft pastels and hairspray.

So there is a pirate and an under the sea feeling in our house at the moment. They are doing pirates at school too. We have even ordered a pirate costume for her to wear and Annabel is trying to teach us pirate songs.
