Mermaids` Makings

Beautiful Summer Flowers

We made some backgrounds this afternoon (using a mixture of wallpaper glue and paint). It`s good to have some ready made backgrounds handy because very often it takes so long to dry.

Red Ted`s  and his mom`s beautiful artwork inspired me so much I wanted to make something similar as well :) I showed their beautiful picture to Annabel and she was very happy to join in. So first we folded up some tissue paper, drew a circle and cut the whole lot out. Then we made a little slit in each of the flowers and by overlapping one edge made them cone shaped flowers.  We did exactly the same with the red tissue paper.

We then cut out the basket and decorated it. And again we folded up the coloured paper and cut out a lot of shapes in one go. I showed Annabel how to make heart shapes very easily- just drawing half of the heart shape on the paper. She was so impressed. It was hard work for her because the tissue paper is very delicate but she was so patient. And the pictures really turned out very pretty!
