Mermaids` Makings

TV in the Bedroom!

Lots of people have TVs in their bedrooms now – children just as much as grown ups, including some of Annabel’s friends (and they are only 5).

So we thought that we should get up to date with the times as well :) We have a lovely green portable flatscreen TV in Annabel’s room –  a very posh one (a Disney Princess brand)

As you can see, the toys just cannot keep away from it.  We have to set a very strict time limit, otherwise they would watch it all day whilst Annabel is at school.

There are lots of nice programmes on TV. Every Monday at 4 pm we watch the soap ” The Apple Tree Valley”.

Every Tuesday at 5 pm there`s an art and craft  programme ” Little Miss Maker”.

Every Thursday at 4. 30 pm we watch the cartoon “The Bubble Princess”.

So when daddy is watching his business programmes we can always go upstairs and watch our own :)

A few days ago Annabel got a Disney Princess present in a lovely cardboard box.. which looked like a TV. (The screen part was cut out already). So we painted it green, added some plastic bottle lids and dug out Annabel`s old artwork. The box can hold about 30 sheets (or even more).. so it`s a good way of keeping and reusing old artwork.

It is so lovely to “watch the programmes” looking  at old artwork, remembering when and how it was made and also to make up stories based on the pictures.

But- we don`t have a real tv in our bedrooms and we never will :)

  1. At first I was like, “That is horrible having a TV in your kid’s bedroom! “, but then I scrolled down! These are fabulous—-my daughter would love them!
