Päkapikud- Father Christmas` Elves- are very popular amongst Estonian children, mainly because they bring little presents :D every morning during December. I am not sure how long this tradition has been going for… perhaps about 20 years or so. When I was little, we didn`t have this tradition. Anyway, our daughter is so happy to find little presents every morning in her slipper. The Elves only come if the children have been good. And the children are told that the Elves are looking through the window to check that they are being good. If you leave a letter in your slipper, the Elves will deliver it to Father Christmas and sometimes he will reply.
These little creatures look very lovely and they are perfect for crafts :)
On the picture above we made snowflakes using snowflake punch and I tore paper for the other bits and pieces… my daughter glued everything down. She made sure that the Päkapikks were holding hands.. because they are best friends.
