So we have arrived in Japan on our “Around The World in 12 Dishes“ jorney and and what is the first thing you learn about a country- its flag! The Japanese flag is very easy to make :) And we decided to do a handprint one again (as we did for India). So my lil one painted a red circle on her palm and pressed it onto the paper flag. Click here to see how to make these easy peasy flags!!
The Japanese flag is a white rectangel with a large red disk in the centre. This red circle represents the sun! The Japanese flag is officially called Nisshōki , which means “sun mark flag”, but is more commonly known as Hinomaru, which means “circle of the sun”.

For the food we made One Pot Teriyaki Chicken which tasted wonderful!
I spent hours searching for recipes that was pretty easy to prepare and with ingredients I could get. So this One Pot Teriyaji Chicken sounded perfect. I still couldn`t get pok choi, so I substituted it with chinese cabbage. This dish turned out to be everybody`s favourite in our family and we will be definitely making it again!
