Back To School
Following Estonian tradition our little one took some nice flowers to school to give to her teachers on her first day back. This is one of my sweetest childhood memories- very proudly holding a bunch of flowers and walking to school wearing my new school uniform, with a nice ribbon in my long hair.
Asters are the flowers most traditionally used…. often grown in people`s own gardens.
We have some other back to school traditions in Estonia too. Estonian flags are up everywhere and the first school day is always 1 September. Every school will also have a special parents’ assembly so parents can see the school and look around their child’s classroom.
